Najib in no hurry to meet new MCA boss
Prime Minister Najib Razak said he will find the time to meet the new MCA president, Dr Chua Soi Lek, in due course.
Prime Minister Najib Razak said he will find the time to meet the new MCA president, Dr Chua Soi Lek, in due course.
"There is no hurry, let him settle down first," he told reporters after launching the MyProcurement Portal at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya today.
He said this when asked when he would meet Chua - who was elected MCA president four days ago - as he would be in other countries for working visits this month.
Najib is expected to go to New York next week.
Chua won the president's post when he defeated incumbent Ong Tee Keat and former president Ong Ka Ting at the party polls last Sunday.
He polled 901 votes against 833 by Ka Ting and 578 by Tee Keat.
Najib is facing a dilemma whether to appoint Chua as a cabinet member due to his sex DVD scandal.
Chua was filmed having sex with a woman at a hotel in 2007 which resulted in the MCA leader having to relinquish all his health minister's post.
