The Dewan Rakyat turned unruly when the opposition called for Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) to be referred to the Rights and Privileges Committee for making uncalled for remarks against Penang leaders.

It started when Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) objected to Tajuddin's claim that Penang leaders travelled frequently to Singapore and Hong Kong allegedly to sell government's secrets.

"I want him to show proof by providing details on the matter," he said when interjecting Tajuddin's remarks during debate on the Supplementary Supply Bill (2009) 2010.

Deputy Speaker Datuk Ronald Kiandee said the standing order cited was not applicable to refer Tajuddin to the committee.

Gobind then cited Standing Order 36 (6) by implying that Tajuddin had an ulterior motive and urged him to withdraw the statement.

Kiandee intervened their argument by calling on members of the House not to make allegations during debate.

The sitting resumes tomorrow.
