Ahmad Iqhbal: I have inside information on the helicopter division of the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

They are subcontracting out their maintenance to a locally-run helicopter company and part of the agreement is that a Malay general from the Air Force be put in a top position to oversee the operation (and he be paid a huge wage), but he in turn stipulates that the men in the hanger be all Malay even though there are very capable non-Malays already working there.

Now why do they need to subcontract their maintenance when they are already and have been doing it themselves for so long? And what is the justification for dropping all the non-Malays when they are proven capable in their jobs. Who else is getting a big kick back from this contract? What a waste of tax money, just add the middlemen and watch our money flow out of the Bank Negara.

Magnus: Affirmative action through untrammelled discrimination was never part of the New Economic Policy's objectives. The NEP's objective was social justice, not discrimination. To have hijacked the NEP from its original objective and implement it in a grossly discriminatory rather than fair manner was sheer lunacy, especially in a multi-racial democracy like Malaysia.

Discrimination is never good because it is negative concept to start with. It cannot bring about any positive affirmation realistically, or psychologically.

But I can agree that the subject of negative discrimination is an emotive one. It always is, and not merely to Ibrahim Ali and his racist Perkasa.

RR: For the NEM to be successful, it must truly and sincerely cut across racial lines and look at the poor as people, not according to race. But we must not forget that the implementors are civil servants who are mostly Malay. How is Najib Abdul Razak going to change their prejudices and mindsets?

We know there are thousands of displaced Indians from the estates whose children cannot go to school without birth certificates and ICs. Can NEM address these basic issues by appointing special officers at every district? If not, NEM is just another slogan.

Disgusted: Would you believe it? BN's Batang Kali state assembly representative Mohd Isa Abu Kasim said, "They are not supposed to use the state's apparatus in elections."

As Jesus said in the Bible, a speck in another's eyes he can see whilst a beam in his own he can't. BN has, from time immemorial, been using government resources and civil service help at all general elections and by-elections. Now that Pakatan Rakyat is in control of Selangor, he's crying foul for it doing the same?

I won't be surprised if the clowns in the Election Commission quickly jumped to investigate. Maybe they'll even wait for the elections to be over, and if Pakatan wins, declare fraud as defined under some section of the election laws was committed and make BN the winner by default.

Nothing surprises us in 1Malaysia. Desperate times will entail desperate measures. Don't say I didn't warn Pakatan. Be vigilant and on the guard. Expect the unexpected. From the Perak fiasco, you can learn some bitter lessons.

Peter TK Tan: This is a smart move by Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim to endear himself to the voters. This is what you call power of incumbency.

Ahmed Kamal: I'm glad that Malaysiakini exposed this. It makes me wonder how often the exco meetings are relocated, and whether government operations will move back to Shah Alam before nomination day.

Otherwise, it's a clear breach of PKR's promise not to use state government facilities and staff for campaigning.
