Tengku Puan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar said today she does not know the student detained by police yesterday for impersonating as the adopted son of the Tengku

Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

"He had written a letter to me about a month ago, saying that he was my adopted son and that I had met her during the flood, but I had ignored the letter as I did not know who he was.

"In the letter, he had also claimed that I had given him permission to call

me 'mummy' or 'aunty' and he invited me to visit the PLKN (National Service Training Programme) camps," she told reporters after presenting letters of sponsorship from the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (Taff) to 42 married couples at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Describing the antics of the student as humourous, she said the PLKN should have referred to the palace with regard to the letter received from the student before allowing him to visit the PLKN camps in Pahang.

"I'm also perplexed why the PLKN did not refer to the palace beforehand on the visit and how the Pahang Exco member could have been duped when he knew all my adopted children," she said.

'Title doesn't exist'

"The student used the title Yang Mulia Tuan Muda Mohamad Zulanif Tengku Laksamana Abdullah, whereas the title 'laksamana' does not exist in the Pahang royalty," she pointed out.

Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah feared that if the student was not detained, the image of the Pahang royalty could be affected by the false promises he might have made.

She said the incident was not the first as many had impersonated as the royal couple's adopted children in the past.

Yesterday, a smart student was detained at his relative's house in Pekan, Pahang with regard to impersonation as the adopted son of the Tengku Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and using a forged letterhead of the Tengku Puan Pahang, in order to be allowed to visit all PLKN camps in Pahang and getting VIP treatment.
