Apco contract cost RM77 mil a year

Tony Savarimuthu: What exactly was the scope of work? Who were the personnel assigned to the job? What were their respective competencies? What were the deliverables and key performance indicators? What were the man-hours spent? What visible results merited such a payment? Why did the taxpayer have to foot this bill? What did we achieve as a result of this money being paid?

Don't think it is just a matter of whether a local company is or isn't able to do the job. It diffuses the argument that Batu MP Tian Chua ought to be making on behalf of the electorate.

Call me Jibby: Ibrahim Ali, please say something. RM77 million a year can help how many Malay/bumiputera small-medium enterprises annually? How many Malays/bumiputera are left behind because of government spending on something so unnecessary? How many Malay/bumiputera have missed the chance to be a millionaires?

David: All those millions just to make the world forget that the regime has been accused of cronyism, corruption, murder, mismanagement, siding with racists and religious bigots, etc?

I demand that Umno and Co return all the money to the people. I didn't pay taxes for these so-called rulers to splurge as they like.

Kgen: RM77 million is an obscene amount for a one-year contract to provide public relations services. What exactly did they do other than come up with a cheap slogan copied from another job? This is how the BN government wastes taxpayers' money and yet wants to impose GST (goods and services tax) to fuel its profligate spending.

Dingy: PM Najib Abdul Razak loves mega-spending. The bigger the better. When he was the education minister, he spent billions on the smart schools project. What happen to that?

When he was in defence, his mega-spending on submarines cost an innocent woman's life. Paid over RM400 millions to his good friend as commission, which was said to be dirt cheap. Then there was the Eurocopters project.

As PM, Apco's services cost taxpayers a huge sum of money just to spruce up his overseas image. It hurts us ordinary folks to spend RM100 to have frogs for dinner, but Najib can spend millions just to buy them!

Dr Mahendran Markandoo: Is the PM using his own money to build his own image or the rakyat's RM77million? If he is so confident of himself, why is all the money being spent just on him?

This should given to the poor or to those deserving students who have scored high marks to further their education so that they can help the country. We do not need a PM like this - to build his 1Malaysia image only for votes.

Ng Seng Tong: What?! Spending RM77 million of taxpayers' money for a PR exercise to prop up the faltering image of one man? This is impairment of intellect of the highest degree. That is why I am against the GST - why should I pay money to the government to be wasted by delinquents?

Concern Malaysian: It is surely very sad to hear and see case after case of money being spent by government in doubtful ways. If such money were spent in the right way, Malaysia would surely be one of the greatest nations in the world.

May God help to expose and uproot all the corrupted politicians to let the whole world know their real face.

Inter-faith meet postponed over 'small fry' jibe

Disgusted: The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) should not take part or involve itself in the small-fry interfaith committee as it will be a waste of time.

It has been set up under an insignificant minister in charge of unity and national integration Koh Tsu Koon to pull wool over the eyes of non-Muslims to convince them that the government and ruling party want to have dialogue and discussion to promote greater understanding between the many religious groups.

It is just eyewash and never intends to listen to such committee except Perkasa and other Umno-backed NGOs. It will be a non-starter and will be forgotten after the Hulu Selangor and Sibu by-elections.

MBN: Who says Umno hasn't changed? It has changed for the worse since the last general election. It's so easy to see through the 1Malaysia camouflage/propaganda/insincerity. There is no way to attain peace in Malaysia other than to vote out BN.

Ong: Many of us already know that both Koh Tsu Koon and the cabinet-established inter-faith committee are small fry right from the beginning. It is only the small fry who have been deluding themselves all this time into believing that they are important enough to have influence over the racists and fanatics. Now these dreamers are seeking verification from the deputy prime minister.

The adroit politician that he is, the DPM will tell them some cock and bull story which the small fry will swallow, and then they will then go back to deluding themselves.

Lucia: Let the interfaith committee rest in peace. Oops, I forgot. It was never born. It was still in the womb when it already faced problems. MCCBCHST should distance themselves from this so called interfaith committee. There is no point setting it up and sitting in it when the Umnoputeras and extremist Muslims like Perkasa are shouting ketuanan Islam all the time.

Ghkok: I think it is impossible to have interfaith dialogue which involve parties that practise the concept of ketuanan . Interfaith dialogue must go on, but it must involve people who are sincerely committed to unity, diversity, mutual respect, and to the embrace of one another as equals.

DPM denies making 'small fry' remark

Perak Boleh: Correct move by the interfaith committee to boycott the meeting indefinitely. Why does the BN government propose to have this interfaith committee in the first place when they are not sincere in listening to the views of non-Muslims.

Our DPM Muhyiddin Yassin and his sidekick Nazri Aziz claimed that the 'small fry' committee has no legal powers. It's better for those in the committee to talk at a coffee shop where everything can be uttered without reservations, as they would not be subject to any legal implications.
