Heavy rain and strong winds here that almost brought down the tent for dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, did not dampen the spirit of the leaders to be together with the local residents especially the Chinese community.

Heavy rain occurred as soon as Muhyiddin completed performing the ground -breaking ceremony at the construction site of the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Bukit Tangga, at about 3pm, prompting him, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Noh Omar, Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai, Housing and Local Government Minister Kong Cho Ha and other dignitaries to move to the left of the stage to avoid the rain.

NONE The strong wind also caused the fans in the tent to sway and the structure almost coming down. However, several construction site workers and Rela members came to the rescue and held on to the posts to prevent the tent from collapsing.

The state assemblyman for Kuala Kubu Baharu, Wong Koon Mun, who was then delivering a speech, said that according to the Chinese belief, the water that came down from the sky was a symbol of success, referring to the cheque for RM3 million contributed by the government towards the construction of the school.

NONE The heavy shower also did not prevent Muhyiddin from continuing to deliver his speech, saying that the rain was a good omen for the BN in facing the Hulu Selangor by-election.     

The deputy prime minister said the allocation had been approved last year and had nothing to do with the by-election in the constituency.

The school to be erected on the six-acre site is expected to be ready by the end of the year.
