The opening of the state assembly sitting today was postponed because Yang Dipertua Negeri Abdul Rahman Abbas is sick and has been admitted to the Penang Hospital.
The opening of the state assembly sitting today was postponed because Yang Dipertua Negeri Abdul Rahman Abbas is sick and has been admitted to the Penang Hospital.
Speaker Abdul Halim Hussain said Abdul Rahman, 72, was warded for bronchopneumonia yesterday.
As such, the sitting could not proceed and was postponed to a date to be fixed, he said, adding that the assembly had until June 6 to sit for the current term.
According to a report from the hospital, Abdul Rahman was expected to recover in one to two weeks.
