Star and New Straits Times led with Hulu Selangor PKR division treasurer Dr Halili Rahmat’s resignation from the party and the withdrawal of two independents from the Hulu Selangor by-election, VS Chandran and Johan Mohd Diah.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian, likewise, frontpaged the resignation of Halili from PKR, who prior to his departure was seriously considered to be a candidate for the Hulu Selangor by-election.

Tamil Newspapers

Malaysia Nanban headlined Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein saying that he would directly supervise BN’s P Kamalanathan's campaign activities in Hulu Selangor.

Tamil Nesan said the Kedah government is on the brink of breaking up as more Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers are expected to defect.
