Settlers of seven Felda schemes and nine Felcra schemes in Kedah who have worked their land for more than 20 years will be given titles soon, Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak said today.

He said the decision on the titles was made at today's meeting of the State Executive Council which he chaired at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar.

"I will instruct the State Lands and Mines Office to conduct a census and check the records for the titles to be issued immediately," he told reporters after the meeting.

Azizan could not give the number of settlers and the acreage of cultivation involved.

The Felda schemes are Laka Selatan, Bukit Tangga (Kubang Pasu), Bukit Tembaga, Lubok Merbau (Padang Terap), Gunung Pongsu (Kulim), Teloi Timor and Teloi Kanan (Sik).

The Felcra schemes are Weng, Iboi and Tiak (Baling), Belantik (Sik), Belimbing, Tolak and Bukit Tampoi (Padang Terap), and Bukit Selambau I and II (Kuala Muda).
