9:00am: PKR Youth deputy chief Faris Musa ( above ) and four others detained since 7.30pm yesterday are expected to be brought to the Kuala Kubu Bharu court.

According to the party's spokesperson, the five were held at Bukit Sentosa police station for

allegedly tearing down BN posters and could be remanded for investigations under the Penal Code.

NONE 11.00am: PKR will address issues related to the Orang Asli ( left ) community at its daily press conference in Kuala Kubu Bharu.

11.30am : The prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor will attend the 'Program Sentuhan Kasih 1Malaysia' at the community centre, Felda Kampung Soeharto.

11.40am: PKR's Orang Asli campaigners along with Orang Asli villagers held a press conference at Kuala Kubu Baru alleging that BN had resorted to dirty tactics to fish for the community's votes including using the Orang Asli Affairs Department (JHEOA) to hand out cash, seeds, food and alcohol. The last item was also given to underage persons, they claimed.

 

"They brought mangoesteen and coconut seeds to give out (to the villagers) but after (PKR party workers) started taking photos, they loaded the mangosteen seeds back into their trucks," said Masah Anak Atan from Kampung Orang Asli Serendah.

NONE 12.00pm: PKR launches online strategy to persuade young voters registered in Hulu Selangor but who are working or staying elsewhere to come home and vote on Sunday.

The strategy will be implemented through Facebook, Twitter, text messages and other social media medium.

 

The party estimates that the group makes up 10 percent of the 64,500 voters in the constituency and could be the deciding factor in the by-election.

1.05pm : PKR Youth deputy chief Faris Musa and four others released from police detention as the Kuala Kubu Baru magistrate refused to grant a remand order. 

They were arrested yesterday and investigated under the Corrosive, Explosive and Dangerous Weapons Act 1954, for being in possession of a knife.

NONE 2.00pm: The photo of BN candidate P Kamalanathan kissing the hand of Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has become an issue for PKR with non-Malay voters.

In a PKR leaflet ( right ) written in Mandarin, it is said that Pakatan leaders are equals who work together with sincerity, while in BN, Kamalanathan is an Umno stooge.

Muhyiddin later defended Kamalanathan's action .

According to Bernama , BN candidate's gesture of kissing the hand of Umno leaders shows that he knows Malay culture and custom.

Deputy prime minister said the opposition's manipulation of the matter by equating the gesture to MIC bowing to Umno showed that it had run out of political capital.

5pm: PKR candidate Zaid Ibrahim will visit Ladang 15 and SJKC Bernam.

He started on his campaign trail today as early as 8am at pasar pagi (morning market) in Kuala Kubu Bharu before moving on to another at Batang Kali (10am).

NONE 5pm BN candidate P Kamalanathan, together with MIC deputy president G Palanivel, will visit Kg Sri Keledang. Later today (8pm) the MIC information chief and the party president S Samy Vellu will be at Taman Bukit Teratai.

5.10pm: MIC deputy president G Palanivel, who was initially the BN candidate, is accompanying his replacement P Kamalanathan on the campaign trail in Kg Sri Keladang.

Palanivel is greeted by about 30 voters during a short function. This is believed to the first time Palanivel officially joins the campaign.

"It doesn't matter who is the candidate. There must be progress for the Indian community and that's why we should vote for Kamalanathan," said Palanivel.

5.30pm: Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will attend 'Friendly Ties with the Indian Community' programme at SJK(T) Taman Bukit Teratai, Batang Kali.

7.00pm: PAS Youth chief Nasruddin Hassan claims on his Twitter page that there are pictures of BN candidate P Kamalanathan in the Felda settlements of Seoharto, Gedangsa and Sg Tengi are hard to come by. 

"But there are plenty of Najib's pictures. Who is contesting? Are they trying to mislead (the voters)?" wrote Nasruddin. 

8.30pm: Going against his vow not to campaign for the BN in Hulu Selangor, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is scheduled to visit an operation centre in Serendah.

9.00pm: Former PKR Youth chief Ezam Mohd Noor to speak at BN operation centre at Kg Pasir, Kerling.

9.45pm: Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will attend Indian cultural show at Umno old building in Kuala Kubu Bharu. The press later was informed that Najib was not going to this event.

10.00pm: Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and PKR candidate Zaid Ibrahim will attend a ceramah at Taman Teratai, Kuala Kubu Baru and then proceed to Felda Gedangsa, Hulu Bernam.
