Selangor exco Elizabeth Wong lodged a police report early this morning at the Kuala Kubu Bahru district police station against what she claimed were attempts to bar voters from two Orang Asli villages from voting at the Hulu Selangor by-election tomorrow.

hulu selangor elizabeth wong police report orang asli village barricade In her report, the Bukut Lanjan state assembly member ( left, in white shirt ) claimed that she had received complaints from Orang Asli friends that they were not able to enter their villages by 'gangsters' who were blocking the entrances to their settlements.

It was claimed that one person who had tried to take a picture of the barricade was punched by one of the men blocking a village entrance.

Wong said that she had identified the two villages barricaded as Kampung Orang Asli Kirling and Kampung Orang Asli Pertak.

She added that she believes the blockade was meant to prevent the Orang Asli from going out to cast their ballots.

There have been indications that significant sections of the Orang Asli community favor Pakatan Rakyat and may vote for PKR at the poll tomorrow.

Wong said she wants the police to to dismantle the barricades immediately.
