Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan today gave assurance that police would not hide details of investigations into the shooting of 15-year-old, Aminulrasyid Amzah, in Shah Alam two days ago.

"We will not cover anything... we will investigate the case fairly and transparently so that the truth will be revealed," he told reporters after launching the Royal Malaysian Police Force (PDRM) forensic team's new insignia and to hand over Forensic vehicles in Kuala Lumpur today.

Musa also hoped that members of the public would not speculate or make pre-judgement on the case.

He said the police would work closely with the Home Ministry which had taken immediate action by setting up a special panel to investigate the incident.

While expressing sadness over the incident, Musa advised parents to pay more attention to their children, to prevent them from going out at odd hours, and being party to unlawful activities.

Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said they were in the midst of recording statements from witnesses to enable the investigation paper to be completed and submitted to the prosecution division by Friday.

He said the police would also call the teenager's friend to record a full statement, since his previous statement was incomplete.

Aminulrashid was alleged to have been hit by shots fired by police, after be was alleged to have reversed his car into police officers while trying to escape a road block, after police had stopped the vehicle in Section 11, just about 100

metres from his house.

His friend, however, managed to flee from the scene during the 2am incident.
