Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is expected to open the Penang Malays Economic Convention scheduled on May 8-9 at the Seberang Perai Polytechnic.

Penang Umno's economic bureau secretariat chairperson Norraesah Mohamad said the main objective of the convention was to open up opportunities for the young generation to grab opportunities to develop themselves.

"We are sometimes comfortable with what we have, but we hope through the convention, the younger generation will be able to look at opportunities available in fields that we had not been concerned before," she told reporters in Penang today.

The convention themed 'Hoping for Opportunities within Challenges' would be open to the people of Penang, especially for entrepreneurs in small and medium size industries and those interested to become entrepreneurs, she said.

The convention would also help identify business and job opportunities available in the North Corridor Economic Region (NCER) and 10th Malaysia Plan (RMK-10).
