Multi Racial: This is one of the most obvious cases happening in Malaysia involving senior politicians and friends. Why would any government or/and company want to pay half a billion ringgit to a so-called consulting company with no experience and provides no-value-added services.

The only possible scenario is some hanky-panky was going on. It is so unfortunate in this country where we have so many hypocrites advocating a corruption-free society (like the other day where all the top civil servants came together to swear their fight against corruption) while they do absolutely nothing in this case and just hope that it will go away.

Those involved may be able to get away in this life but they will never get pass God. I just wish someone among them would wake up and do the right thing.

Just be careful. Either you take the money, close the case and enjoy yourself at some Caribbean hideouts, or if you have the conscience of one who goes for the truth, then go dig deeper. The BN has no shame but to thumb its nose at the law or is in itself the law.

But I believe that one day, justice will prevail and those who have done a grave injustice to others, to the country or to the system will have to answer for it - whether they have sworn on the Holy Book or whether the corrupt system will still protect them.

Baiyuensheng: Its not surprising to hear this - that the government is doing us a favor. Not the other way around where they should be grateful that we put them there and entrusted them that they do a good job.

This type of mentality permeated from the top to the bottom. Our leader said vote for us, we will give money to build schools, etc. They are doing us a favour? Remember the government is for the people, by the people and of the people. We are the master and they serve us!

Lee Teng Joo: I would expect such an irresponsible and childish remark to come from, well, a child but surely not from a grown adult with white hair and who is about to retire.

If he (and any of his men) cannot take the heat and pressure of the moment then quit immediately please. Malaysia has no need of such men of straw. The public is not going to be cowed by such childish threats.

Ong: How wonderful if the CEO of our Inland Revenue Board, Hasmah Abdullah, decides to behave the same way as Musa. Then we will all condemn the IRB for being heartless in tax collection and she will respond Musa-style by proclaiming that if Malaysians don't want the IRB to collect tax, she will issue the necessary instructions to her staff to stop collecting tax.

MACC: Traffic offenders top number of bribe givers

Chee Hoe Siew: Let's just take a hypothetical case where the police stop your car, ask for your licence and tell you that you were caught speeding a few kilometres back without showing any proof. He goes on telling you that the offence means RM500 fine and continues to repeat such statement without writing anything further.

If you tell him that you will pay the fine, he will tell you that it will be easier to settle the fine on the spot at a lower cost and ask how much you can afford. A bargain is done and deal struck at RM50. Payment done and no receipt issued.

May be MACC is right that most bribe givers are drivers. But are they the one initiating the transaction in the first place? Certainly MACC is pointing their radar at the wrong direction. Even our neighbour Singaporeans know the routine.

How can MACC be so naive and come out with such a statement?
