While PAS Youth members will take 'shifts' to carry out the task, other members of the public who are also against gambling - including non-Muslims - are welcome to participate in the distribution of leaflets.

This, he said, is because all religions are against gambling activities.

The wing members will be distribute the leaflets throughout the operating times of the premises, though this will depend on the manpower availability of the wing members, Nasrudin told Malaysiakini .

A date has not yet been set, however, for the leaflet-distribution exercise to begin.

NONE PAS Youth had earlier announced plans to continue demonstrating in several states around the country against the government's licensing of Ascot Sports to carry out sports betting in 200 of its 608 Sports Toto outlets.

Last week, several protests were held in Penang, Perak, Selangor, Terengganu and Negeri Sembilan.

More demonstrations will be held in Malacca, Pahang, Perlis in addition to the holding of another demonstration in Selangor on May 28.

The peak of the campaign against football betting will occur on July 3, when the wing hopes to gather 100,000 for a demonstration that will culminate in the submission of a memorandum on the matter to the King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
