Teachers want maternity leave for all children
The National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP), the country’s biggest teachers' organisation, has called on the government to extend the maternity benefits to women bearing sixth and subsequent children.
At present the benefits were only for the first five children, its secretary-general Lok Yim Pheng said on behalf of the 160,000 members, three-quarters of whom are women.
