New Straits Times front paged Astro Awani journalists Ashwad Ismail and cameraman Samsulkamal Abdul Latip recounting their experiences onboard the Mavi Marmara when the ship was attacked by Israeli commandos.

The Star led with Ashwad and Samsulkamal claiming that the volunteers were unarmed when confronted by the Israeli commandos.

Malay Newspapers

Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also led with Ashwad's tale onboard the ship to Gaza.

Sinar Harian front paged the Selcat chairperson, Teng Chang Khim, grilling Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd over the six month bonus paid despite being in operation for just 10 months.

Tamil Newspapers

Tamil Nesan led with Minister in Prime Minister's Department Idris Jala predicting that Malaysia would be bankrupt by 2019 if the Malaysia continued to provide subsidies amounting to RM74 billion annually.

Malaysia Nanban led with Human Resources Minister Dr S Subramaniam assuring the public that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak would resolve issues concerning entrance to matriculation programmes for Indians.

Makkal Osai criticised MIC president S Samy Vellu for not taking up the challenge of former MIC deputy president S Subramaniam to quit within a week.

Sin Chew Daily and Oriental Daily front paged Prime Minister Najib Razak's statement that defended the appointment of Labis MP Chua Tee Yong as deputy agriculture and agro-based industries minister. He said the appointment was not due to Chua's father Soi Lek, who is the MCA president.

Nanyang Siang Pau led with the protest by Federation of Sundry Goods Merchants Association of Malaysia against the new ruling by Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry that all grocers can only have a maximum of 200kg of sugar, flour and cooking oil every day. The federation threatened to call on their members to stop selling these items as the new ruling is not reasonable.

China Press led with a robbery case in Johor Bahru where a 19-year-old lady was hit by a stray bullet in the head and was sent to intensive care unit for treatment.

China Press disagreed with the new regulation by Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry that requires all traders to hold a retail licence to sell controlled goods. It urged the ministry to have a dialogue with traders and stakeholders before crafting any solution.

Nanyang Siang Pau discussed the new ministerial posts given to MCA leaders and listed out the problems faced by Chinese community which need to be addressed by MCA.

Sin Chew Daily analysed the reasons that caused the downfall of Japan Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama. It said that Japan's ailing economy and failure to keep a campaign promise to move the US Marine Corps Air Station off the southern island of Okinawa were major factors.

Utusan Malaysia reported the reactions from family members of the volunteers who were bound to Gaza on page six and seven. One of its columnists suggested that Muslim countries should form a Muslim military coalition to face off continued Israeli aggression on page 10. The release of the volunteers was reported on page 17 of its world news section.
