Focus on Dewan Rakyat session next week will be tabling of the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) on Thursday by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak .

Most people are waiting for the essence of 10MP, one of four main pillars of the Najib administration, to make Malaysia a high income nation by 2020.

The other pillars are the 1Malaysia Concept: People First, Performance Now; the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and the New Economic Model (NEM).

The session starting Monday is set to be explosive as the prime minister will table a motion condemning Israel's attack on the flotilla killing at least nine activists.

Malaysians outraged by the raid on a boat carrying humanitarian aid  demonstrated and sent a protest note to the United States embassy.

Israeli commandos stormed the Turkish ship "Mavi Marmara" with 12 Malaysians on board on Monday as it was heading for Gaza.

The Malaysians had been released and were now in Jordan before leaving for home on Sunday.

    

Motion on Israel

Observers believe that the motion to take the violent act by Israel to the United Nations Security Council would for the first time receive unanimous support from parliamentarians including the opposition.

PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said it would propose economic sanction on Israel and urged the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) and the United States to use military action.

The session would also see new faces and change of seating due to the cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.

They involve Transport Minister Kong Cho Ha who replaces former MCA president Ong Tee Keat who was dropped and Housing and Local Government Minister Chor Chee Heung, the former finance deputy minister.

The others are Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Chua Tee Yong, son of MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, Deputy Minister of Information Communication and Culture Maglin Dennis D'cruz and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Senator Gan Ping Shou.

Sitting arrangement changes

    

Results of the Hulu Selangor and Sibu by-elections leave Barisan Nasional (BN) with a majority of 137 seats, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) with 25, DAP with 29, Pas with 23 and independents (8).

Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong who quit PKR joins independents Zahrain Mohamad Hashim (Bayan Baru), Tan Tee Beng (Nibong Tebal), Mohsin Fadzli Samsuri (Bagan Serai),

Zulkifli Nordin (Kulim Bandar Baru), Ibrahim Ali (Pasir Mas), Chua Soon Bui (SAPP) and

Eric Majimbun (SAPP).

Bills to be tabled include Road Transport Act (Amended) 2010, Hire Purchase Act (Amended) 2010, Consumer Protection Act (Amended) 2010, Wildlife Protection Act 2010, Goods and Services Tax Act 2009, Direct Selling Act (Amended) 2010 and Stamp Act (Amended) 2010.

In Ipoh, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Koh Tsu Koon said tabling of 10MP would meet the people's urgent needs, increase competitiveness and speed up development.

"10MP is the continuation, renewal and tranformation of previous Malaysia plans," he told reporters after opening a seminar here today.
