ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived today in Pakistan for a two-day visit, official media reported.

Mahathir, who flew to Islamabad from New Delhi, was to hold talks with President Pervez Musharraf to discuss bilateral relations, as well as key regional and global issues, officials said.

The Pakistani president and Mahathirwere scheduled to address a joint news conference later today.

While both Pakistan's and Malaysia's cooperation with the US-led war on terrorism was not officially on the agenda, it was likely to feature in the talks, observers said.

Musharraf was in Malaysia in March last year. This visit was the Mahathir's third trip to Pakistan following ones in 1993 and 1997.

Mahathir was to travel on to Saudi Arabia on Saturday. AFP
