The Klang councillor whose house was firebombed early Friday morning will not back down in his quest to bring down illegal cybercafe operators, who he suspects are behind the attack.
S Selvadurai, also DAP Klang deputy chairperson, said Klang only has 57 licenced cybercafes, and a tenfold of illegal ones.
“While some operate 24 hours a day, some even offer illegal gambling,” he told Malaysiakini .
The attack took place at his residence in Taman Port Klang at 12.10am, when two individuals allegedly threw two molotov cocktails into his porch.
The sound of shattering glass alerted the councillor, who managed to douse the flames with a garden hose.
The attack caused roughly RM4,000 in property damage, including wrecking his van door.
Selvadurai will be giving a VCD of the entire incident, taken off his neighbour’s CCTV, to the police.
