Umno vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal has described the political 'storm' that the opposition is trying to spread as a mere propaganda that is deliberately created to show instability in the state.

As such, he said Umno should not be influenced by the stories created by the opposition that liked to make up stories as it could hinder national development.

What was more important for party members was to continue to focus on efforts to provide the best service to the people, he told reporters after closing the national-level Kemas Kindergarten Potentials Day at the Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah, in Behrang today.

Mohd Shafie, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said the claim by the Perak PKR that three state assemblypersons in the state would defect was a similar tactic that was being used in Kedah.

He said the opposition was deliberately making up stories aimed at influencing the people so that they would lose confidence in the Umno leadership.
