A gang of burglars has given new meaning to the term, 'breaking into and entering'.

They used a vehicle to ram into three business premises, in Kuantan, before escaping with an assortment of loot.

In the separate incidents on Sunday and yesterday, the main doors of a tyre shop, car acsessories outlet and a computer shop were found smashed.

The police believe a vehicle was used to mow down the doors before the burglars ransacked the three business premises.

They have not ruled out the possibility that the same gang was responsible for all three incidents.

Yesterday, a proprietor was shocked to find the main door of his tyre shop in Jalan Haji Ahmad, broken down.

A customer's car, car accessories and cash worth a total of about RM26,600, were missing from the shop whose rear door was also forced open.

State criminal investigation department staff officer ASP Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said today, the 35-year-old proprietor's

sister-in-law had informed him of the break-in which occured about 4am.

She said initial police investigations revealed that the burglars had used a vehicle to ram into the main door of the shop to gain entry.

In a similar incident today, burglars used a vehicle to smash into the main door of a car accessories shop in Sungai Isap Jaya about 3.50am and escaped with RM550 cash.

Noor Asyikin said the shop proprietor's workers reported seeing a group of men in two cars at the time of the burglary.

She said a similar modus operandi was used by burglars when they used a vehicle to smash into the main door of a computer shop in Jalan Gambang on Sunday.

The 35-year-old shop proprietor reported a loss of 'Game Boy' playing units, three 'Play Station 2' units and RM100 cash.

Noor Asyikin said the police suspect the same gang was responsible for the three break-ins, while using a vehicle to break down the main doors.
