PKR leaders appointed to Perangsang board
Two PKR leaders have been appointed to the board of directors of the Selangor government-linked company Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPSB).
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company announced that party vice-president R Sivarasa and Negri Sembilan chief Kamarul Baharin Abbas would be made independent and non-executive directors.
Sivarasa (right), who is the Subang MP, is a lawyer by profession. Kamarul Baharin is the Teluk Kemang MP and sits on the party's supreme council.
Kamarul Baharin has made his way up the corporate sector, starting his career as marketing executive with Nestle, before ending up as executive chairman of development firm Syarikat Tenaga Ehsan back in 1987.
KPSB is the infrastructure arm of the Selangor government's investment vehicle, Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB).
KPSB, which owns water treatment firm Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd as well as other water producers, is a key player in the ongoing water concessionaire tussle between the Federal and state governments.
