Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties have been asked to expedite their political transformation plans in line with the government's own transformation plan.  

NONE Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin ( left ) said since whatever transformation taking place in BN component parties was slow, he urged such process to take place faster to upkeep the image of Barisan Nasional (BN).     

"Every component party must administer their party effectively and enhance changes quickly so that BN's image will remain intact," he told reporters after opening the Pagoh Umno Division Youth, Wanita Umno and Puteri Umno delegates meeting at Kompleks Seri Perkembar Pagoh, Muar today.     

He had also made a similar call when opening the Pagoh MCA delegates meeting in Grisek, recently.     

Muhyiddin said the transformation was important and necessary because the eco-system and political landscape of the country has changed because the public are now knowledgeable and well informed.     

He said every weakness in BN would raise an unpleasant perception among the people while the opposition would manipulate such issues for their own political mileage and advantage.     

"For example, Umno must not only fight for the Malays but must also include the Chinese and Indians," he said.     

Speaking of claims by the Opposition that it will focus on conquering Johor, which is regarded as BN's stronghold and fixed deposit, Muhyiddin said it was impossible for the opposition to pull off such a feat.     

However, he reminded that it would remain a big threat for BN and urged BN component parties to work hard and fulfill the expectations of the people to ensure their continuous support.
