The Sarawak branch of Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) plans to field candidates in 10 to 15 constituencies in the next state election.

According to a Bernama report, Adit said most of the seats were rural-based and belonged to state BN component Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

It was leaders of PRS, however, who had helped to destroy Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) of which he had been a member, Adit claimed.

Among the seats in PCM's scope were Bukit Begunan, Balai Ringin, Sri Aman, Tamin, Kakus, Machan, Katibas, Balleh, Meluan, Belaga, Bekenu, Marudi and Batu Danau, he told reporters in Sibu.

His plan will mean that PCM will also challenge PRS president and state Land Development Minister James Jemut Masing who is expected to defend his Balleh seat.

Adit also said that PCM did not contest in the recent Sibu by-election because the people had decided that they wanted to go against the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP).

Adit had earlier this year declared that PCM - registered less than a year ago in September - had set itself a target of 30 seats in Sarawak state elections.

Adit was formerly with PKR for almost a year, before leaving, citing disappointment in party advisor Anwar Ibrahim's alleged lack of seriousness about taking Sarawak away from BN.

Adit said he had an open invitation from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to see him when he and PCM were ready.
