PKR is expected to make several changes to its leadership line-up in a reshuffle likely to be announced at the weekend.

Several state liaison chiefs and bureau heads are expected to be replaced, while some new appointees are expected to be included in the supreme council, the party's decision-making body.

"There will be some minor changes which will be announced by the party leadership," party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution told Bernama when contacted.

Saifuddin said it was likely that the reshuffle would be announced after the party's retreat at a hotel in Shah Alam this weekend.

There is intense speculation that two former ministers Zaid Ibrahim and Chua Jui Meng, who are supreme council members, will be given bigger roles.

Zaid currently heads the PKR-DAP-PAS opposition pact's secretariat, while Chua sits on the party's powerful political bureau.

There is talk that party communications head Jonson Chong would be replaced by Seri Setia state assemblyperson Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who is the political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besa Khalid Ibrahim.
