Independent parliamentarian Zulkifli Noordin claimed today that there is a faction in PAS attempting to undermine the Islamist party.

Labelling the members of the faction as “Anwarinas”, the Kulim Bandar Bharu member of parliament told reporters in Parliament that they take their orders from Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and dance to his tune.

zulkifli noordin Zulkifli ( left ), who claims he is a PAS member, coined the term when he was asked by a reporter whether PAS had a hand in sheltering private investigator P Balasubramaniam, who went into self-imposed exile in the UK after implicating Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Fugitive Raja Petra Kamaruddin, who has blogged extensively against Najib and Rosmah, is also in the UK and has appeared in numerous photos with Balasubramaniam and Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

Asked about PAS treasurer Hatta Ramli, who is in London for the launch of the Friends of Pakatan Rakyat (FoPR) club, and who has appeared in at least one photograph with Balasubramaniam, Zulkifli said: “What is happening in PAS is that there is a group we call ‘Anwarinas’, his (Anwar’s) supporters who worship him, they are the ones playing up matters,” he said.

"The purpose of these vermin is to sabotage PAS”, said Zulkifli.

Their president is not Abdul Hadi Awang but Anwar, he added.

“They are the ones ruining PAS... To me, PAS should take action against them and restore the confidence of the Muslims. PAS is a good party, (whose members are) supporters of Islam,” he stressed.

Wee Choo Keong see red

Meanwhile, Wangsa Maju Independent MP Wee Choo Keong saw red after watching Anwar disparaging the country’s judiciary in an interview on international news network CNN.

“They criticise the judiciary, but they use the same channel to sue newspapers, reporters and politicians,” he charged.

He accused Anwar of politicising the issues merely to please the Western powers.

Wee also rebuked the PKR leader for kowtowing to the Jewish leaders in the US over his statement on Zionist aggression.

“He knows that his support base - the Jews in the US - is dropping, therefore, he has to make the statement,” said Wee.
