Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim today denied allegations that local councillors who had been vocal in criticising state policies had been dropped from the new 2010-2011 term list.
"I doubt we have done that (selecting councillors based on that consideration. I have seen vocal local councillors (critical of the state) still in the list of new appointments," he told reporters after chairing the weekly state exco meeting near here today.
Khalid, however, admitted that there were slight glitches when fine tuning the list of 288 councillors for the state's 12 local councils, which were announced by him on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Khalid also dismissed talk of infighting among Pakatan Rakyat component parties and that the final councillors list was delayed due to last minute lobbying.
He also pointed out that many individuals wanted to serve and became emotional when their names were left out.
