The motivational programmes organised by ESQ Leadership Centre Sdn Bhd (ESQ) are not contradictory to Islamic beliefs and
principles and do not carry deviationist elements, said Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria.
He said the programme also had nothing to do with liberalism and pluralism ideologies.
The discussion by the National Fatwa Committee on June 16 had decided that the ESQ was not contradictory to the beliefs and ideology of the Sunnah Wal Jamaah followers, he told reporters here today.
He was commenting on the move by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council to ban the programme because its teachings were found to be deviating from Islamic beliefs and principles.
Harussani said the founder of ESQ, Indonesian national Ary Ginanjar Agustin was also called up to explain several matters and words which were not clear and had created confusion because the ESQ book was written in the Indonesian language and Bahasa Malaysia.
"We (the National Fatwa Committee) are satisfied with (his) explanation that the ESQ had nothing to do at all with liberalism and pluralism ideologies," he said.
