Harakah , PAS’s official newsletter, today replied to a show-cause letter it received yesterday from the Home Ministry, said its managing director Kamaruddin Jaafar.
Kamaruddin, who is also the member of parliament for Tumpat, said
Harakah
’s acting editor-in-chief Taufek Yahya handed over the reply letter to the ministry’s publications control and Quranic text division deputy secretary, Abdul Razak Abdul Latif in Putrajaya at 3.30pm.
“The letter was signed by me as it was addressed to me. In the reply, we answered all issues that were raised,” he told Bernama in Kuala Lumpur today.
Yesterday, the ministry had issued Harakah the show-cause notice concerning three issues - late submissions of copies of each issue of the newsletter to the division, selling copies to non-party members and putting up copies for sale at non-designated premises.
On Harakah ’s printing permit which expired on Wednesday, Kamaruddin said Harakah was still being published and circulated as it had already submitted an application for renewal of the permit.
“Normally, while waiting for the renewal of the permit, just like other publications, we are allowed to continue printing until a decision on the application is obtained,” he said.
