The Railwaymen's Union of Malaya (KPPKTMB) has postponed the second picket on July 21 and other actions regarding the establishment of ET Sdn Bhd, after a meeting with Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Its president, Abdul Razak Md Hassan said, the union's leaders held talks with Najib at the Finance Ministry at 11.30am yesterday.

Following that, a meeting involving the union's committee decided to postpone the picket and other actions as mentioned in the union's resolution, he said in a statement issued here today.

Abdul Razak said this move was to respect and appreciate Najib's concern over the matter.

"The union and all KTMB staff are grateful to Najib for his efforts and assurance in solving the issue.    

    

"Clearly our prime minister is a caring and understanding leader who is willing to hear our woes," he said, adding Najib proved that his slogan 'People First, Performance Now' could be implemented.

On July 7 the union picketed around the KTMB headquarters in Jalan Hishamuddin and planned to carry out a nationwide protest on July 21.
