The Home Ministry this evening quizzed the editorial team of the The Rocket , DAP's newsletter, over a show-cause letter issued to the paper regarding renewal of its publishing permit .

The ministry's Deputy Secretary-General Abdul Rahim Mohd Radzi said among the individuals quizzed were DAP secretary Teresa Kok and the paper's editor, Tony Pua.

dap rocket newspaper tabloid 170507 "Home Ministry Secretary-General Mahmood Adam met them at his office at 7pm in regard to the show-cause letter issued to the paper by the ministry on July 13," he said in a statement.

He said at the meeting, they were informed about certain violations by the paper including continuing to publish it in the Chinese and English versions although the publishing permit had expired.

"They were also late in applying for renewal of the publishing permit besides being late in submitting eight copies of each edition of the newsletter.

"However, they promised to provide a reply and an explanation on this non-conformance within 48 hours," he added.
