The Sultan of Kelantan, Tuanku Ismail Petra Sultan Yahya Petra, returned to Kelantan today after six days in Singapore where he had undergone an angiogram and angioplasty procedure at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
The sultan was welcomed by palace officials at the Sultan Ismail Petra airport in Pengkalan Chepa near Kota Bharu after the special aircraft carrying him touched down at 1.20pm.
The comptroller of the Kelantan royal household Abdul Halim Hamad, when contacted by Bernama, said a hospital procedure delayed the sultan's return by just over an hour.
"The sultan was originally scheduled to arrive in Kelantan at noon," he said.
Tuanku Ismail Petra had undergone the angiogram and angioplasty on Saturday.
He had left for Singapore last Thursday.
The sultan had received treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital from May 24 last year to March 4 this year.
