CM vs SDO: BN gov't has endorsed 'sabotage'

Yap Wing Chun: After 50 years of BN/Umno rule, many in the civil service, particularly those in high positions, are closet Umno members. Therefore it is difficult for them to be professional and stay neutral. Would the old political masters in earlier days promote a civil servant who was a known opposition member? I don't think so.

Lonestar: The ‘1Malaysia' PM Najib Razak and ‘Malay first' DPM Muhyiddin Yassin are playing a very dangerous game by supporting this ‘little Napolean' and his wrongdoings. As many suspect, the whole episode has been orchestrated by them.

Remember, he who laughs last, laughs longest and this won't be too far away. The rakyat has woken up and is impatient to do the right thing when the 13th general election comes. Remember ‘ketuanan rakyat' when it comes. Remember the manner the 1Malaysia PM deals with the ‘little Napoleons'.

Anonymous: The state development officer (SDO) has erred in mismanaging the various projects in his purview. If not, he should expose those responsible. A spade is a spade, don't call it by any other name. As a civil servant, he is accountable to the rakyat, not any political party or government.

Be man enough to admit your mistakes Nik Ali Mat Yunus, don't hide behind Umno's 'skirt'. As far as I am concerned, as well as the majority of the rakyat, we have lost faith in the likes of Najib, Muhyiddin and their goons.

PI Bala's lawyers issue challenge to critics

Passing Cloud: Produce the evidence, Anuar Shaari, if you're speaking the truth or you're damned as a liar, a tool of Umno, an evil man out to create trouble. Now, the people are eagerly waiting to see your evidence.

Ferdtan: Anuar Shaari, lawyer Manjeet Singh Dhillion called you a liar straight in your face. Sue him back. If you don't, the whole world would know that you are indeed one. No excuse please - just sue the lawyer without setting any conditions.

Lover Boy: Show the proof and evidence you have and sock it to them. Their invite for you to attend the press meet is good. Anuar, you have no choice but to accept the offer. Malaysia and the world is looking at you. In the event you decline, you are not a ‘jantan'. So Anuar Shaari, you are either a hero or a zero.

R1Biker: I can say that I know Manjeet and Americk Sidhu and I have full respect for them both for what they stand for. I have no doubt whatsoever they are representing P Balasubramaniam on pro-bono.

FDI plunge warning of dark clouds ahead

Kgen: What do you mean, "Malaysia could end up being caught in the middle-income trap?" We are already caught in the middle income trap. But we won't remain middle income for long as other countries leapfrog ahead of us.

We will soon become low income as inflation outstrips real income. The RM3,000-RM4,000 earned by professionals now will be just enough for necessities in another 10 years. By 2020, Malaysia will be exporting maids, manual workers, mail-order brides, prostitutes and gigolos to our neighbours if Umno continues to rule.

Wong Chee Kong: The sad thing is that instead of engaging in deliberations to mitigate the slump in FDI, the powers-that-be are only interested in water and sand matters. Sigh!

Habib RAK: When there is no credible judiciary, no investor would risk their money here. Our judiciary is the biggest failure that's driving existing investors away and keeping new ones at bay.

Taib Mahmud woos House of Lords

Lim Chong Leong: Does Abdul Taib Mahmud know what renewable energy is? He says coal and natural gas. These are not renewable energy but leaves a devastating carbon trail. Coal-mining also destroys natural habitats.

And as for hydro-power, there is much destruction of the natural forest before any energy is produced at all. So is he embarrassing us before the House of Lords? And did he highlight the failed Bakun Dam before he introduced the more controversial series of hydro dams that he intends to build?

Monkey's Uncle: It's even a family affair with Tanjung Manis Halal Hub Development executive chairperson Norah Abd Rahman (daughter of former chief minister Abdul Rahman Ya'kub, who is uncle of Taib Mahmud) in tow.

What Islamic products has Sarawak got to export that they need to attend, of all things, an inaugural branding and marketing forum? Taib Mahmud's brand of Islamic propriety is on show. Silly cranky lords being used as an excuse for his holiday trip to check out his properties , while further impoverishing the rakyat with his travel expenses.

Sarawakian: This got to be a sick joke. The single individual who is wholly responsible for the destruction of Sarawak jungle is talking about the environment. I hope the British parliamentarians don't get swayed by this timber baron.

DOC: Well, we got to hand it to Taib on his ‘going green' drive. His talk and promises are recyclable rubbish.
