MCA President Dr Chua Soi Lek said the party would assist other component parties in BN to wrest Selangor from the opposition.

NONE Chua said since the Selangor MCA has been able to strengthen the party by  reuniting its members, they would be able to assist other BN component parties in their bid to wrest the state which was currently under the Pakatan Rakyat.

"Last year only 500 members attended the Selangor MCA Convention but this year 1,400 attended, and that proves our current strength.

"It is a good sign and may be a new start for Selangor MCA, underlining the fact that Selangor MCA is ready to assist other BN component parties to mount a serious challenge," he told reporters after opening the Selangor MCA Convention in Klang today.

Chua in his speech said members must work hard to assist BN in regaining the confidence of the people in Selangor.
