The police are still investigating the claims of former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) flight sergeant Faizzal Jinong Abdullah, who was purportedly harassed and tortured by his superiors for refusing to be party to several misdeeds.

NONE A police source from Kuching district police station who requested anonymity said that Faizzal's ( right ) report made in 2008 had implicated many high-profile air force personnel and they needed to get their statements before proceeding with the case.

The 45-year-old retired flight sergeant claimed that prior to his retirement several high-ranking officers had harassed him after he discovered a scam at the RMAF multi-storey living quarters in Kuching where he was housed.

Faizzal alleged he was repeatedly urged to take part in an electricity theft offence but he refused and and because of that, his entire family had allegedly suffered from various forms of intimidation.

"He (Faizzal) had made reports in Kuching, Seremban and also in Seberang Perai. Because they kept moving from one place to another, we only managed to get his statement early this year," the source told Malaysiakini .

Cop: Still gathering evidence

He also said that they were still gathering evidence which was made more difficult as some of the air force personnel implicated by Faizzal had been either transferred to different states or on United Nation missions overseas.

NONE According to the officer, Faizzal was being "very pushy" but nothing could be done until everyone involved has been interviewed.

The retired flight sergeant had approached Malaysiakini hoping to put an end to his harassment, which has also impeded him from completing his end of service documentation programme properly.

Faizzal claimed that he was given a public identification card in exchange for the army identification card only after strenuous efforts.

However, until today, he claims that he has not received his retirement card which enables him to claim benefits accorded to retired military personnel.
