A building contractor today filed a suit against Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) seeking about RM1.37 million in damages over an alleged invalid termination of a sand mining contract in Bestari Jaya, Kuala Selangor.

Resvil Holdings Sdn Bhd filed the suit at the Shah Alam High Court registry at 10.40am through its lawyer Adnan Seman.

Resvil Holdings is seeking payment of a performance bond of RM360,000, special damages of RM1.01 million, general damages, interest, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court.

In its statement of claim, the bumiputera company stated, among other things, that KSSB had terminated the contract, awarded in December 2008, on the grounds that it (Resvil Holdings) had appointed a sub-contractor to undertake the sand mining.
