Tee cries 'conspiracy', supporters stage protest

Wira: Pleading ignorance of a company where your son is a partner is a lame excuse. Hey, that is your son, not your friend's son. If you lack such communication even with your son, how can you communicate with the rakyat?

Be reminded that Pakatan Rakyat leaders must not just be clean, but must also be seen to be clean. Whatever your misplaced anger is, Tee, stay out of politics for some time. Take your sacking as a penalty for not knowing the strict rules on clean government which the BN government had trampled on for umpteen years to the dismay of the rakyat.

If you are righteous, you will win in any election in the constituency you serve, like what former mayor CY Choy did in Penang as an independent for many terms. He did not even have the alternative media to help him.

    

Aramsa: Tee Boon Hock and supporters, yes, you may protest and demonstrate as it is okay and acceptable in a democratic society. However, after you have done so and cooled down, go home and reflect on the whole fiasco.

Tee has been implicated as a ‘rogue’ councillor. What should the DAP do with a situation like this, especially when the DAP and Pakatan Rakyat has been very strong against malpractices by Umno.

DAP must be seen to be doing the right thing. Do not be unhappy over this issue because in the first place you are the cause of this problem.

Jiminy Qrikert: So, 24 DAP members from around Klang intend to hold the party to ransom over someone who is proven to have abused his position?

Regardless of his 26 years of contribution, abuse of power is abuse of power. There are no two ways about this. The DAP disciplinary committee has done the right thing to send the correct message to the entire party as well as to their partners - PAS and PKR.

Tee must have thought that the strength of DAP gives him special privileges to test the boundaries of how far he can exploit his position for the purpose of patronage. It won't be long that kickbacks will creep in, along with mega-bucks clandestine deals.

Then it will be too late as one bad apple will have tarnished the image of the party irreparably. The 24 DAP members should go join MCA as this patronage and letters of support nonsense is what created the PKFZ fiasco in the first place.

Gerald: Mr Tee, you are like a pot calling the kettle black. If you claim that you are innocent, go challenge the verdict during your appeal hearing session. By the way, are you claiming that Ronnie Liu is in the same boat? Reveal all and let's see if DAP and/or PKR are more transparent than BN.

Real politicians are dead and gone. What we have today are all the half-baked hypocrites.

Philip Chong: Tee, you knew very well that your family members cannot be involved in a business related to your work. I'm sorry, I cannot and will not side with you. What you did was exactly what BN has practised in the past, and continue to do so now.

It is very sad that you did not learn from their mistakes, but rather you followed their footsteps by supporting the company belonging to your son's partner. So don't tell us you know nothing about it. It is not acceptable at all.

Avinder Gill: Ronnie Liu should be asked to explain why his letterhead fell into the hands of Tee. He must be made accountable for this seemingly obvious negligence. It must be a lesson to all so that this must not be repeated.

Responsibility does not end with the sacking of Tee. Whether or not Ronnie Liu allowed this to happen or otherwise is not the question. The point of the matter is that his letterheads left his control. He must come out and explain himself.

Malaysiasakit: These guys don't get it, do they? An abuse of position must be punished, no matter how many years the person had served DAP. And we don't buy the excuse that Mr Tee doesn't know his son is a partner. Issuing a support letter is a definite no-no anyway. Do you get it now?

Kapten Pencen: Tee has abused his position as a councillor by giving support letters, and to top it all, he even used official letterheads that are not even his. That is criminal, and not only he should be expelled, the police must do a thorough investigation into this and bring him to court.

Well done, DAP. This is the type of approach we desperately need from any ruling party, unlike the BN.
