If affair is a 'bare allegation', what about Sodomy II?

your say 'Could the government and prosecution team use the same standard on Anwar's alleged sodomy case too?’

'DPP, Saiful must clarify allegation'

Malaysian: Solicitor-general Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden, when asked to comment, shot back: "This is a bare allegation and there is no substance (to the claim). Do they have personal knowledge (about the alleged affair)?"

En Yusof, do you have personal knowledge about the allegations against Anwar?

Brij Jayaram Kathiravelu: Could the government and prosecution team use the same standard on Anwar's alleged sodomy case too?

Hopium: It's all a joke YB Karpal Singh. You know the outcome. Anwar Ibrahim has already been sentenced. All this is a just a show by Umno, and this country is going into lawlessness. The rules and the laws of the day are written by those in Umno.

Malaysians, in general will not change, not even if the country has a major earthquake. We are so accustomed to the ‘tidak apa’ attitude, that even if Anwar gets thrown into jail, it will only do minor dent to the layman Malaysian life. I have my teh tarik, roti canai, kuay teow... who cares what happens to this country?

Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia: I'm still waiting for Mohd Saiful Azlan Bukhary to go to the nearest mosque to swear upon the Quran that deputy public prosecutor Farah Azlina Latif 'made unwanted sexual advances towards him', 'threatened him' and subsequently 'raped him'.

Alan Goh: Saiful, can you please swear again on the Quran that you have nothing to do with the DPP Farah? You swore once that you were sodomised by Anwar, you can do it again, right?

Please remember, Saiful, there is God, who is just and all-knowing. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour for retributions can be swift and just. There’s still time to repent.

Morning Sun: Till today, Farah Azlina Latif and Saiful have not denied the claim, which means the affair is 99 percent real. Soon their masters will formulate a denial script for them.

Sodomy II trial: Defence raises Saiful's 'affair'

Artchan:

How can this trial continue? Saiful's credibility is in question. He claims that he never met Najib Razak, then the pictures came out. He claims that as a good Muslim, he is duty-bound to report Anwar for sodomising him, and yet there was no penetration.

He is engaged and yet he goes gallivanting with the one of the prosecutors. So when he is two-timing his fiancee, was he thinking about being a good Muslim?

TKC: This was headline news in CNN this morning. Boy, damn malu, lah. How the heck are we going to attract foreign investments with a ludicrous, nonsensical and bizarre case like Sodomy II? For a country that wants to attract ‘high-end’ investments, this is very ‘bottom-end’ indeed.

Wira: Be prepared for the worse, because in Sodomy I, even after the alleged 'victim' Azizan Abu Bakar told the open court repeatedly under cross examination by the defence counsel that Anwar did not sodomise him, the judge threw out his testimony. Taking a cue from that case, I think Saiful's credibility is no longer an issue to secure a conviction for Anwar.

Gordon Gecko: This case is a foregone conclusion, just like in Sodomy I. Therefore, I'm not really interested in the legal stuff. What really intrigues me is this Farah "affair".

How did Saiful end up with the DPP Farah Azlina? Did their eyes lock on each other across the crowded courtroom? Was it love at first sight? Was the affair as sordid as the Sodomy II trial? Any pictures of Farah so that we can compare her with Saiful's ex? Any Facebook account of Farah?

Jinggy: Attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail and the DPPs know very well that this is a dirty, sinful case. Demi Allah, why must the learned judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah continue with this nonsensical case and waste the rakyat's money and the court's time?

Please strike off this case to save Malaysians' face. It will be a shame on Malaysia if the case continues to be heard.

Redz: This long case can be listed in the Guinness Book of Records and it can be turned into a film. By judging the way the case is going on, difficult endings can be added to the script.

Veno: It will be most honourable for the judge to hear the striking out of this case and drop it as soon as it is heard again so that our judiciary can regain the public confidence. If Saiful is such a 'saint' who could swear by the Quran, why then he is now being speculated as having affair with Farah Azlina Latif.

And the dropping of Farah from team is tantamount to admission of wrongdoing. Why carry on wasting public fund and more suspicion of the case being cooked out politically.

Makorang: Yes, DSAI and his team of lawyers have to highlight the liaison since it involved the star witness. It is crucial that the court determines the actual role of the DPP, whether her role is confined to just note-taking in the court or if she's also involved in discussion and preparation of the case.

She has erred but must we make fun of her? Think of her parents and family. Islam acknowledges the trial and tribulation involved in bringing up a daughter, so much so that parents who succeeded in doing so, are promised paradise as a reward.

I am sure RPK (Raja Petra Kamarudin) disclosed the information because he is 'da man' for the job but I am sure as a father with daughters, he's also wringing his hands at the thought of the collateral damage.

Joe: Sodomy II trial may well turn out to be like this case. An offender was tried for stealing a doughnut. The prosecution charged the person for theft of a doughnut that had no hole at the centre. The owner insisted his doughnut had a hole at the centre. The whole world knows a doughnut without a hole ain't a doughnut.

According to the learned judge, it does not matter, it's pastry and proceeded to find the accused guilty. By all indications, DSAI is going to eat pastry.

Allan Kong: This sodomy trial is turning into a fabulous soap opera. Hats off to the director. The show must go on at all cost!
