Ex-Permatang assemblyman Abdul Aziz Mohd Noh, who was found dead with his aide in a car near Sungai Buloh today, was described as a dedicated Umno member.

Abdul Aziz Mohd Noh, 64, and his aide Siti Rohana Ismad, 43, died after being shot in the head at about 11am.

The Toyota Caldina driven by the assemblyman went out of control and crashed into a divider on the North-South Expressway at Km455 heading towards Ipoh.

Abdul Aziz, who was Permatang assemblyman from 2004 to 2008, had served as Abu Hassan's political secretary in 1997 when the latter was menteri besar.

"We were very close. I knew the deceased since my school days in Kuala Selangor. In fact, I became his teacher.

"When I entered politics and became a deputy minister, I took Abdul

Aziz as my private secretary before appointing him political secretary when I became menteri besar," said Abu Hassan.

Abu Hassan said both of them were active in the Selangor Council of Ex-elected Representatives (Mubarak), of which he was the president while Abdul Aziz, treasurer.
