Jiminy Qrikert: MCA leader Loh Seng Kok cannot see the difference between Pakatan Rakyat and BN. He comes from a party that's deaf, dumb and blind to the rakyat. MCA doesn't dare to squeak any objection to Umno. On the rare occasions that it dares to whimper, Umno stomps on it. Loh calls this 'consensus'.

Even if Abdul Hadi Awang had spoken against Tony Pua's suggestion of doing away with the seven percent discount, it is good for the rakyat to know. Then, we will know who the sincere partners of Pakatan are and if they see issues in very racist ways.

But Hadi Awang did not say that - he said, don't take way the seven percent discount from the Malays who are majority of the poor. I totally agree with that. Hadi also said that “we are obligated to defend those of other races who are poor and should be protected.”

MCA is simply trying to pit Chinese against Malays.

Voice Yup: The savings fund mentioned by Tunku Abdul Aziz should be used to help the Malay poor only. Priority and higher discounts given to those hardcore poor and followed up progressively for those in low-income, low-medium and medium-income brackets.

Dappy: Tunku, we salute you for defending Tony Pua from the attacks of the PM, DPM and greedy Umnoputras who still demand for discounts inspite of being filthy rich. Tony Pua is perfectly right to say that the discounts should be for the deserving poor only and not the rich. It is clear that Umno's agenda is to help themselves to the country's coffers. Helping the poor is only a pretense.

P Dev Anand Pillai: Hello Mr Loh Seng Kok, do you remember when Umno Youth were at your doorstep asking for you to apologise? At least in Pakatan, they agree to disagree. But in BN, you just apple-polish and quickly kow-tow. Just admit the fact that you guys are just as how Lee Kuan Yew had described - placid and compliant.

Lusiapa: Loh Seng Kok, your reaction and comments to a non-existent problem clearly shows that you are all out to grab public attention even to the point of making a fool of yourself once again.

It is very clear from the above report that Hadi Awang did not object to Tony Pua's noble proposal. That you should see it otherwise explains why you were dumped so unceremoniously before the last general elections. Please learn to accept the fact that your days as a politician are long over.

                        

Anonymous: Loh Seng Kok is typical of MCA leaders whose words and deeds do not represent Chinese, Malays’ or Indians’ sentiments. They represent Umno's battle cry. The NEP as it is today is the result of MCA’s silence all these years. And now that a few truly Malaysia-loving politicians voice their views over this special privilege for the well-heeled Malays, Loh, instead of supporting it, is poking at it.        

Gen2: In Islam, it is ‘haram’ to be a free-loader. Umno and Perkasa want a free lunch for bumis, while other Malaysians work hard and pay their taxes.

Phan Gaik Cher: I personally know of many self-proclaimed bumis who buy luxury properties, sometimes en bloc , at a discount and sell to non-bumis at full developer's price. If this is not blatant abuse of the benefit then what is it?
