Muslims in Malaysia will observe the fasting month of Ramadan beginning tomorrow, Aug 11.

The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal, Tan Sri Engku Ibrahim Engku Ngah announced that the date for the beginning of the fast for states in Malaysia had been set for Wednesday, Aug 11 as decreed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong after getting the consent of the Rulers.

The announcement was carried live by RTM1 tonight.

On Aug 3, the Office of the Keeper of the Malaysian Rulers’ Seal set today as the date to sight the new moon of Ramadan at several locations including the Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Following the announcement, all mosques in the country began to hold the ‘ terawih ’ prayer for the whole month of Ramadan.
