Four of 29 protestors charged for illegal assembly in last year's Aug 1 anti-ISA rally pleaded guilty yesterday, but in a sudden about turn today, changed their pleas.

Mohamad Fazly Mohamad Ismail, 27, Mohamad Fitri Mohamad Yasin, 30, Wan Muhammad Jazlan Razali, 25, Syaza Muaz Shaharudin,20, said they decided today to withdraw their guilty pleas.

NONE They said they had originally agreed to plead guilty because they could no longer withstand the ‘pressure' from Special Branch police personnel and the lengthy trial process.

They are part of a group of 29 protesters-aged 17 to 50 ( above ), arrested in front of the national mosque in Kuala Lumpur last year for participating in an illegal assembly.

All 29 are being charged under section 141 of the Penal code and section 27(5) of the Police Act 1967.

Following the reversal, the case is now brought to another judge. Sessions Judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad fixed Nov 22 to 24 for hearing.
