Multi Racial: Tony Pua did not say don't help the Malays. He said the government should focus on the poor regardless of race and since there are more Malays in that category, the Malays will be the biggest beneficiary. Umno leaders understood it. Perkasa leaders understood it. But they took opportunity to play up racial sentiments.

Now see what they have done? Tony Pua, our prayers will be with you. You did the right thing and God will be on your side. Carry on, what you have been doing.

Kit Carson: Threats from BN-sanctioned individuals or groups (though anonymous) against vocal opposition leaders will definitely bring in more votes for Pakatan. In this case, Tony Pua has been threatened because he suggested that the 7 percent discount for rich bumiputeras be removed and the money thus saved be channelled to the poor.

Who are the rich bumis who will be affected by this move? So many names come to my mind, but there is so little space here...

Loo Soon Fatt: Tony Pua, don't be threatened by such cowards. People with brains would know you do not want the rich to rob the poor with your proposals. The police must investigate this M-16 bullet case seriously otherwise they will sent C-4 next. All sensible Malaysians support you. Don't worry and continue the fight to save our country.

Lusiapa: Once in a long, long while, a true patriot will emerge on the scene to give hope to a nation which is on the brink of despair. Tony Pua Kiam Wee, a standard bearer of the Pakatan Rakyat, is one such rare commodity to come our way. Only slightly more than two years in public service, his contributions to the nation, both in and outside of Parliament, have far exceeded the expectations of Malaysians. This bullet incident is indeed a tribute by his cowardly opponents that his presence pose a real threat to their political survival.

That no immediate government or police action was forthcoming when the life of a lawfully elected opposition member of parliament is threatened is not unexpected. Carry on, YB (yang berhormat) but take extra care henceforth. All right-thinking Malaysians are solidly behind you. God bless you and your good work.

Bobby Cheng: Gangsters usually carry only pistols. How many people can access to M16s? We can safely say the coward who sent this was not very smart by giving away essential clues as we can easily shortlist the few agencies which have access to M16s.

Tangkak is notorious for its secret societies. Which politicians' toes has Tony stepped on? We are not surprised that those politicians, especially from the ruling party , arelinked to some secret societies.

Alexander Yuan: Before the junk of a newspaper called Utusan Malaysia or the BN fellas say that this is done by a Chinese person (the letter's language "indicates" that), think about this... since Malaysia is very strict on gun laws, where can you get a M-16 bullet?

Only from an army camp and not from any local store. And by the way, a dust of talcum white powder should reveal the sender's fingerprints on the bullet. It wouldn’t be that hard to catch the person now, PDRM?

SayaAnakBangsaMalaysia: Here we go again, yet another pathetic, cowardly and thuggish act typical of Umno and their sub-contractors Perkasa - a variation of their 'bloody cow-head' stunt.

Interesting question: the police have confirmed that this is a locally-made military-issue 5.56mm x 45mm M16 assault rifle bullet, which theoretically should be available only to the Malaysian military and police. So, what is this army/police-issued bullet doing in a death threat letter to Tony Pua?

It begs the inference that either some corrupt soldiers/police officers have sold ammunition to the criminal elements - common enough - or this bullet came from the police themselves or someone close enough to the police to obtain military- and police-issued ammunition. No prizes for guessing who holds sway over the police.

Arul Inthirarajah: What has the home minister done to prevent Utusan Malaysia from inciting racial hatred? Nothing. What did the home minister do when the cow-head protestors incited religious hatred? He supported them. What does the home minister do to peaceful candlelight supporters? He uses his riot police to attack and arrest them.

What do the riot police do to the Umno pro-ISA supporters, who shout threats and profanities? Absolutely nothing. Which is precisely what this home minister is good for.

Swipenter: This is one more reason to vote Pakatan Rakyat. It looks like those verbal threats of violence and bloodshed as well as "don’t test our patience and don’t play with fire" have taken a step closer to reality. Tony, you must take this threat seriously and request for round-the-clock protection.    

Habib RAK: This is yet another sign and indication that Pakatan is making good progress to thwart Umno/BN and its machinery. Going forward, more sinister measures will indeed be engaged. Each such measure will only further reinforce the resolve of the people to kick out Umno/BN.

CT Tee: While it is good to express our frustrations in our comments, I am not too sure whether we may be able to change anything. For those of us who still love our country, may I suggest that we continuously seek the support from our other fellow Malaysians, whom we come in contact with in our daily dealings, to exercise their voting rights wisely in the coming general election.

DOC: If I was Tony Pua; getting a bullet in the mail would not worry me. If I get a letter asking me to go to the MACC office to answer allegations of corruption, that would worry me. Let see how fast the Police Diraja Malaysia can ‘tutup’ (close) this case.

Ferdtan: This is the beginning of the breakdown of the law. We don't care who the bullet is sent to, either to BN or Pakatan lawmakers - it makes no difference as a crime had been committed.

The police and the home mininster should be serious about such acts, and action should be taken and not to dismiss it off. The bias handling by the police and the home minister of the past events, for example the cow-head demonstration and the intimidation of YB Karpal Singh in Parliament, sent a wrong message to these coward criminals.

Come on IGP (inspector-general of police), get your men to do the job and when you retire in September, we will remember you a little kinder.

Not Confused: Those Umnoputras really are worried, aren't they? I agree this should be taken seriously and Tony Pua should have protection. He is obviously getting close to the bone with his investigations and revelations. More power to you, Tony.

Tkc: The death threat should not be taken lightly. I suggest that Tony employ a couple of bodyguards and not trust the police to take care of matters. If a fund is set up for that purpose, I will definitely contribute because we need Tony Pua in Putrajaya to kick Umno’s ass.
