There has been no slowdown in the demand for the famed Kampung Baru jamek mosque's bubur lambuk (rice porridge) and its management has added three more pots this year to distribute for free the popular breaking fast item.

NONE The mosque's chairperson, Idris Shaari Mat Aris, said this year they would be cooking 15 pots per day as compared to 12 last year, and on Saturday there would 100 pots in conjunction with the launching of a Ramadan bazaar there by the Tourism Ministry.

"As usual the ministry and others will sponsoring our efforts," he told Bernama today.

He said that a pot cost RM450 to cook and could produce 250 packets of the porridge, each of which could be consumed by four to five persons.

He added that individuals wishing to sponsor breaking of the fast at the mosque could do so and that the charge was RM3,200 for 400 people, with the menu consisting of nasi briyani as the main dish.
