Wanita MCA chief Yu Chok Tow today dismissed talk that there are differences of opinion between party president Dr Chua Soi Lek and the Women wing.

She said relations between Dr Chua and Wanita MCA was smooth and cordial, and there were no conflicting opinions.

"What is important now is preparing for the next general election and analysing the current political situation.

"I don't know what you (reporters) mean by differences of opinion," Yu said when asked by reporters whether there were differences between Chua and Wanita MCA, after attending a closed-door dialogue between the party president and Wanita MCA central committee in Kuala Lumpur today.

Wanita MCA deputy chief Tan Ah Eng had been reported to have voiced dissatisfaction over Chua not proposing any candidate from the movement for a deputy minister's post before the last cabinet reshuffle.

Yu said the main topic discussed at the dialogue today was the party's future and how to win the support of voters.

"We need to know the current situation. Wanita MCA can put forward their views and suggestions to assist the party."

She said Chua had made some proposals which would be further discussed on Aug 15.
