The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will face more lawsuits from settlers nationwide, according to PKR Felda Bureau chief Suhaimi Said.

He said that settlers from all around the country, especially from Johor and Pahang, are expected to come forward and they should be in the thousands.

"They have long realised that there was fraud. Some of them have made police reports since ten years ago.

NONE "But at that time, they did not know of anyone who could help. After this, more will come forward to sue Felda. In Pahang alone, we expect at least 4,000 settlers who were cheated," Suhaimi ( left ) said.

On Monday, 766 settlers from Rancangan Serting and Gugusan Raja Alias in Negeri Sembilan have filed a suit over fraud and breach of trust to claim RM200 million over the past 15 years.

They named Felda and Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd as the first and second defendants respectively.

Felda According to their lawyer R Sivarasa, for the past 15 years, the settlers were paid based on an oil extraction grade which averaged at 18.9 percent, while they alleged that the correct value is between 24 and 25.5 percent.

Meanwhile, National Children of Felda Settlers' Association (Anak) president Mazlan Aliman, who is in charge of the administration of the summons, said that they will be filed next month after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

NONE Mazlan ( right ) said that for the time being settlers from Kota Tinggi in Johore and from Jengka, Bera dand Kratong, Pahang, will be suing.

"Now we are in the midst of preparing documents to claim damages," he said, adding that the losses from the lower oil extraction grade estimate will be the main claim.

If the settlers win in these lawsuits, the payoff could be one of the biggest ever in Malaysia, to the tune of at least half a billion ringgit.

"They must bear the consequences once the settlers have realised the truth," Mazlan said.
