The Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Ministry will provide financial aid to build two temples making way for the Air Panas Neighbourhood Park project in Setapak.

Secretary-general Ahmad Phesal Talib said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) would help with the building plans and land ownership.

"We understand problems faced by those managing the temples," he told reporters after visiting the old site of Sri Muniandy Muniswaran temple in Kuala Lumpur today.

The Hindu and Chinese temples had been demolished and relocated to a site in front of SMK Tinggi Setapak.

Work on the Air Panas Neighbourhood Park project costing RM7.86mil that began in June was delayed due to sensitivity over relocation of the two temples.

Phesal said the new site for the temples had been reserved for worship houses unlike previously where they were built illegally on government land.
