Sabah Chief Minister Chong Kah Kiat today congratulated and commended the police for arresting two suspected Jemaah Islamiah members in the state last week.

He said he believed that the police had done what was necessary based on the information that they had gathered.

"We would like to congratulate the police...I am sure that they will continue to monitor (the situation) if at all we still have this sort of people involved in this sort of activity," he was quoted by Bernama as saying.

The two arrested, a Malaysian man and a woman holding an Indonesian passport, both in their 30s, were picked up in Sandakan in the east coast under the Internal Security Act (ISA) last Thursday.
