Harussani, you can't be both politician and mufti

your say ‘We want to respect you as a mufti but it is hard if you continue meddle with politics. If that is your choice you will then be treated like a politician.’

The gyrations of Harussani

Ng Seng Tong: This so-called mufti is irreligious, a pretender. He belongs to same band of Umno operatives as the attorney-general, IGP, head of the MACC, head of the EC, the SDO officer and some of the half-past six judges that pack our higher courts.

Integrity, professionalism and competency are not the criteria for their appointments. These operatives are appointed for their loyalty to Umno. They serve the interests of Umno rather than that of the people. The more biased, shameful and sycophantic their conduct in office, the more prosperous their career under the Umno regime.

Wicked priests are of the worst kind. Their fault is compounded for doing evil while hiding under the cloak of religiosity.

Seng Tong: A religious man he is but certainly not holy. So don't be fooled by his external garb. He speaks of his own, not of his God. He has no credibility as a mufti. I am not impressed with his Islam which is political.

Anonymous: The Perak sultan is answerable to Allah and I think the sultan will not tell lies in Allah's name. This Perak mufti is answerable to the Perak sultan and he is telling lies while holding the Perak mufti’s position. The Perak sultan should say something on this as the rakyat may get the wrong impression that the sultan supports what this mufti is doing.

Makcik Har:

This man is nuts. Stop giving him attention and he will disappear. In the present system, there is no hierarchy of holiness. Anybody with a white skull cap and a paper degree ( no matter how long it takes to get one) can claim to be an ‘ulama’ and issue what ever ‘fatwa’ no matter how silly.

The job of running the Islamic department lies with the director-general who climbs up the ranks. The job of the mufti is to advise the ruler. It is the Perak royalty that hires and fires him. Now you can put two and two together. He has so much time on his hands that he is out to destroy this country. You think he will get fired?

Concerned Citizen: Harussani Zakaria is a man who has more knowledge of religion than many of us here. At least respect him for that. Do stop saying all these cruel things.

Joe: Malaysians can put a 'face' to the wicked priesthood that Umno uses to spread its religious and racist poison. Umno has been churning out filth for decades to cause communal polarisation, abetted through the likes of Harussani Zakaria. This Umno politician masquerades as a priest.

The spirit of mischief in this unholy character reveals the godlessness of this man. Is there any Islamic supervisory authority that is empowered to take action against pseudo-priests who cause harm to the social fabric of our nation with their controversies, racism and intolerance?

Noriha:

I would rather have PAS than this Umno/Taliban type of bigoted mufti who seems to be untouchable. He is a pathological liar. I would want to migrate if this guy continues to be mufti after 13th general elections. God help this country if he remains as mufti after the 13th general elections.

Andek Peramu Sakti: This is one of the most confused mufti that I have come across. He wants attention and just like Umno’s leaders, to achieve this, he would fabricate sensational news. With such a big ego and self-image, he is not the type of religious personality that I would go to. He is well-advised to step down from his present position to join politics.

DOC:

I think Harussani needs to see a psychiatrist urgently for what he seems to be suffering from compulsive lying. Then again he is an Umno mufti and these Umno fellows are generally a bunch of compulsive liars. Hmm. Maybe Harussani contracted this ‘compulsive lying’ disease by hanging around too many Umno members.

JBGUY:

For a mufti, he is indeed someone who needs to be reminded that he is a man of the cloth and to focus his energies on enhancing his flock's faith to the Almighty, instead of stirring the hornet's nest.

I am amazed that the powers that be have not reprimanded him for his wild pronouncements. It would be best for him to step down and let a more learned and religious person to take over. In any other faith, he would have been reprimanded or asked to step down.

Agent99: Dear Tok Guru Harussani (not sure though whether you are qualified to be a Tok Guru), please stay out of politics. Please be a full time mufti, act like a mufti and talk like a mufti. You are mufti for the state, therefore you are also the mufti for Pakatan Rakyat supporters.

We want to respect you as a mufti but it is hard if you continue meddle with politics. If that is your choice you will then be treated like one. You said you know that someone is re-drafting the constitution. Who cares? You cannot just pass a new constitution in a blink of an eye.

Let them continue drafting. Since you are into politics, you can tell Umno to also draft a new constitution.

Habib RAK: This divisive character is not only ignorant of the religion of Islam, he is also totally ignorant of our parlimentary system. He clearly shows his ignorance in that to change any article in the constitution requires a two-thirds parliamentary majority and to replace the constitution requires a referendum.

Both of which will only come to pass when all parties agree to it. When such an ignorant character is put into a place of authority and supported, this means that the current federal administration under Umno/BN is colluding with him for sinister actions.

Pietiring: Changing the constitution needs a two-third parliamentary majority. The rakyat has already matured politically and no goverment of the day would be given that luxury again. If he plans to enter politics, Harussani would be crushed like his counterpart who fought Wan Azizah and Anwar Ibrahim.

Freemen: He will pay dearly for his misconduct. He should know better than to play with the Almighty God. He is behaving like a full-time politician instead of a religious leader. A religious leader answers only to God and not to man.

BTN: Harussani does not practice Islam but Umnothing.

Anonymous: It is really incredible that a supposedly religious man can tell lies without batting an eye. Is he not afraid of Allah? Or he thinks he is greater?
